Prerequisites

Sileom Simulate requires a sufficiently capable GPU with enough available memory to accelerate its FEA solver. Most recent devices which support Direct3D® 12 are supported so long as the model fits into the device’s available memory. 16 GB of onboard memory is a reasonable minimum to run most models, but 32 GB or more is often best. During simulation some of this information is reported to help understand the current execution status.

  • The current GPU device being used to perform the simulation is reported.

  • The total and available VRAM is reported.

  • The size of the meshless model prepared by Sileom Simulate. The size is reported in terms of the total degrees of freedom and how much space it occupies on the GPU. It is possible, in some configurations, to run models which do not fit entirely in GPU local VRAM if it is capable of sharing some system memory. Though these models may execute the performance will be significantly degraded.
